Happy Independence Day! I hope you all safely enjoy your day with lots of fun, watermelon, and fireworks.
The city fireworks were last night at a park nearby, so we thought, "We'll be able to see them from our house!" and invited two families to come enjoy them with us.
We set up chairs and blankets, and enjoyed lemonade, watermelon, and homemade ice cream along with other treats. The kids, all eleven of them {or rather, the eight who could walk}, ran around and played as we waited for the show to begin. It was a lovely setting.
We now know something we never knew before.

We can't see the fireworks from our house.

regardless of how much we could or could not see...we had a great time, and the fireworks were just fine. you guys worry too much!!
