On to knobbier topics

If there was ever a craigslist buy I'm thankful to have made, it would be this coffee table.

It's not exquisite or trendy in design, but it is attractive {to me} and most importantly for a family with little kids, it has storage out the wazoo.  Seriously, you find the wazoo, and it's out of it.

I don't currently decorate the top, because the kids really enjoy using it for puzzles and games, or building on it, or just climbing on it.  However, that leaves this large wooden square in the land of blandsville.

I was looking at it recently, and it occurred to me that maybe a knob change was in order.  I actually like the knobs, which are metal, so I'll save them for another project in the future, but I thought that maybe adding some color would be nice.

I went to Hobby Lobby with the kids, and Ella picked these red knobs.  I must say, the girl has taste.  I wanted something bold and round, and she delivered.  Red in our orange living room, you say?  Well, the color scheme for the room is loosely based on this pillow, so, as you can see, red fits right in.  Better, all four knobs {there's a door on the other side, too} cost a total of six dollars due to Hobby Lobby's 50% off sale.

I like their shape and design.

Here is the new look.

I think it's cute, and, dare I say, even a bit whimsical?  Can we all agree I've done something that has completely changed the look of this room?

Okay, so it hasn't completely changed the look of the room, but can we all agree that I've injected a bit more color to a piece of furniture that was otherwise a big blob of brown wood?  That's right.  Mission accomplished.
