Last night, we took the kids to their first baseball game. Ella didn't quite understand why she couldn't play. I explained that the players were Daddy-sized, and that it was a game for them to play and us to watch. She asked about their outfits {that's my girl}, and I told her about their uniforms, hats, and sometimes helmets, and that they catch the ball in a mitts they wear to protect their hands.
A couple of minutes later, this is what I walked in on.
"This is my baseball helmet, Mom." Then she ran upstairs and grabbed two mittens and said, "These are my baseball-catching mitts, Mom." I love that child! Jack was just watching.
Ella looked at him, concerned, and said, "Jack needs this helmet more than me because he's a baby."
He liked it. He looks like a cone head, but a cute cone head, don't you think? He was ready to play ball.
At the game, Ella decided she was okay with not playing baseball once she realized there was a sand box to play in with her friends {and may I say, every ballpark should have a large sandbox for kiddie entertainment. It was a lifesaver}.
As for Jack, well, he opted to play it cool and traded in his helmet for some shades. The chicks dig it.
i LOVE the look on breigh's face in that picture of jack! we had a TON of fun last night. thanks for hooking us up wiht a good deal!
